This award was established by the Woodbine Entertainment Group to support business students with demonstrated financial need who are interested in pursuing a career in the horse racing industry.
The award is open to full-time undergraduate students, not in Year 1, who are in the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program or related double-degree programs.
Students in Laurier/Waterloo double-degree programs must be registered with Laurier as their "home" institution.
Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 7.0.
Recipients must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident (landed immigrant) or protected person, a long-term resident of Ontario, and have proven financial need.
Applicants must also demonstrate a history of volunteer work that seeks the betterment of their local community, beyond what is required of their academic program.
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a background in equine husbandry, racing, gaming, or related industries.
