Peirson Family Award Fund |

This award was established by Dr. David Peirson to encourage the study of Botany. Dr. Peirson was a professor of Biology at Laurier for over 30 years, and also served as Associate Dean of Science.
In creating this award to help students with financial need, Dr. and Mrs. Peirson thank the University, the Biology Department, and the many people who supported them during his academic study, especially: Murray and Yvonne Flock, Ralph and Wilma Gingrich, and the late Reg Friesen.
Eligible applicants will be full-time undergraduate students in third or fourth year of an Honours Biology program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 9.0 (B+).
Preference is given to a student who has taken or is enrolled in a botany course (as defined by the Department of Biology).
The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident (landed immigrant) or protected person, a long-term resident of Ontario, and have proven financial need.
